  8. and science. In 1954, the USSR returned to
  9. its earlier coeducational system, partly
  10. abolished in 1944. In the USA, 90% of schools
  11. and colleges are coeducational. In Islamic
  12. countries, coeducation is discouraged beyond
  13. the infant stage. In most countries
  14. coeducatioon has become favored over
  15. single-sex education, although there is some
  16. evidence to suggest that girls perform better
  17. in a single-sex institution, particularly in
